Seeing the Inheritance: Mapping Your Family System
This foundational module establishes the conceptual and emotional groundwork for the entire course. Students learn what intergenerational trauma actually is, how it travels across generations biologically and behaviorally, and how to map their own family system with compassion and clinical precision. This module is intentionally placed first because every subsequent tool — somatic, IFS, attachment, narrative — requires students to first understand the terrain they are healing.
- 1.1Trauma Doesn't Start With YouIncluded
- 1.2Reading Your Family SystemIncluded
- 1.3Your Emotional Inheritance ProfileIncluded
The Body Keeps the Score: Somatic Foundations of Inherited Trauma
Before students can use cognitive or narrative tools, they must be able to feel and tolerate what is happening in their bodies. This module — correctly placed second — builds somatic literacy and nervous system awareness as a prerequisite for all deeper processing. Students learn that inherited trauma lives in the body first, and that healing must pass through sensation to be lasting. This module lays the physiological foundation that makes IFS work (Module 3) and narrative work (Module 5) genuinely transformative rather than intellectual.
- 2.1Your Nervous System Is the StoryIncluded
- 2.2Tracking Sensation: The Language of the BodyIncluded
- 2.3Regulating the Inherited Nervous SystemIncluded
Meeting Your Parts: IFS and the Inner Family
With a somatic foundation established, students are now ready to do the deeper interior work of Internal Family Systems therapy. This module introduces IFS as a compassionate, non-pathologizing model perfectly suited for intergenerational healing because it names the way we internalize not only our own experiences but the unlived experiences of our ancestors. Students learn to access Self energy and work with the protective and exiled parts that carry legacy burdens. Placed third, this module builds directly on somatic awareness (Module 2) and prepares students for attachment re-patterning (Module 4) by healing the inner relational dynamics that drive external ones.
- 3.1The Inner Family System — Who's Running the Show?Included
- 3.2Accessing Self: The Healer WithinIncluded
- 3.3Legacy Burdens — Releasing What You Carried for OthersIncluded
Attachment Rewired: Building Secure Connections
With internal healing underway through somatic and IFS work, students are now equipped to turn outward — toward their relationships. This module applies attachment theory (Bowlby, Ainsworth, Main, Siegel) in a healing-forward framework, helping students understand their attachment style as an adaptation, trace its intergenerational roots, and actively build earned security. This module is correctly sequenced fourth: students must understand their inner landscape before they can reliably change their relational one. The module culminates in practical, real-time parenting and partnership tools that directly address the outcome of breaking cycles with children and loved ones.
- 4.1Your Attachment BlueprintIncluded
- 4.2Earned Security: How Adults Heal AttachmentIncluded
- 4.3Attuned Parenting and Breaking the Cycle in Real TimeIncluded
Rewriting the Story: Narrative Healing and Core Belief Change
Students now bring the body-up and inside-out healing work into the domain of language, meaning, and identity. This module — correctly sequenced fifth — works most powerfully because students arrive having already processed somatic and parts-level content; they are not trying to think their way out of trauma, but to author a new story from already-shifting ground. Draws on narrative therapy (White, Epston), ACT (Hayes), coherence therapy, and positive neuroplasticity research (Hanson). This is where personal transformation crystallizes into a new self-narrative and a conscious family legacy.
- 5.1The Family Myth — Stories That Run Your LifeIncluded
- 5.2Core Beliefs — The Bones of the Inherited SelfIncluded
- 5.3Writing Your New StoryIncluded
Building the Legacy: Daily Practices and Your Family Healing Map
The capstone module integrates every prior module into a sustainable, personalized healing architecture. Students complete their Family Legacy Map — the course's signature deliverable — design a realistic daily practice ecosystem, and build explicit plans for navigating relapse, repair, and the long arc of healing. Placed last with intention: students now have the tools, the self-knowledge, and the processed experience to make commitments that will hold. The module also addresses the frequently overlooked but critical topics of community, grief, and the ongoing nature of healing — ensuring students leave equipped, not just inspired.
- 6.1Designing Your Daily Healing PracticeIncluded
- 6.2Completing Your Family Legacy MapIncluded
- 6.3Sustaining the Work — Relapse, Repair, and the Long GameIncluded

Francisco Castillo
If you're here, I want to start by saying something I mean sincerely: you are not broken, and you didn't create this from scratch.
The anxiety, the emotional distance, the way certain relationships seem to loop back to the same painful place, those things have roots. Not just in your own history, but in the histories of the people who raised you, and the people who raised them. In my work as a licensed therapist, I've sat with hundreds of people who came in thinking there was something fundamentally wrong with them and what we found, every time, was a story that started long before they did.
That recognition changes everything. Not because it removes your responsibility for the healing, it doesn't, but because it finally gives you the right map. And with the right map, this work becomes possible. That's what I built this school to do: hand you that map, and then walk alongside you as you use it.
I designed The Generational Algorithm as a complete, sequenced journey because that's how real change actually happens, not in isolated insights, but in a process where each step builds on the last. We start by seeing your family system clearly, identifying the specific emotional inheritance you're working with. Then we move into the body, because inherited trauma lives in your nervous system before it ever lives in your thoughts. From there, we meet the protective parts of you through IFS that have been carrying old burdens that were never really yours to carry. We rewire attachment. We rewrite the stories. And finally, we build the daily scaffolding that makes the healing stick.
I want to be honest with you about something: this is real work. But I also want you to know that what waits on the other side of this work is genuinely different. Not perfect, but different: more regulated, more connected, more free. The cycle you're part of is not the cycle you have to pass on. That's not a platitude, it's something people do, with the right support and the right tools. I'd be honored to be part of how you do it.
